Gregory
Freeman's columns, which were published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from
1989 to 2002, cover a broad range of topics, presented with humanity, wisdom
and humor.
Sixty-five (65) of them are published in the book:
"Greg Freeman: a gentleman, a gentle man. Selected Columns, St.
Louis Post-Dispatch", 2003. Three (3) of them are published
in the book:, "Ain't
But a Place: An Anthology of African American Writings About St. Louis",
Gerald Early, 1998. The former is available from the Post-Dispatch,
and both are available from St. Louis area bookstores, and on Amazon.com.
However,
the Post-Dispatch book could not possibly present all of the 1,616 columns
worthy of being read. With the permission of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
and assistance from its people, the Freeman family and friends, a selection
of his columns (including many from the book), and related writings, are provided
here.
